massive updates.
You know.... I really don't update enough. It’s because I'm out doing stuff all the time. So I have great things to write about, but not time to write it. I guess I could give a quick overview :
Montreal: Fun, yet exhausting. I couldn't enjoy it as much as I should have since I was sleep deprived, not eating enough and dehydrated. I didn't even drink the free drinks I got I felt that bad. Mysterion discovered Montreal was Mysterion land when we saw the old post office that was now a club, have a moving hypnotic swirl where the town clock should have been. He almost got lynched by the French at the final show for making fun of Montrealers intelligence. Toughest show of his life, but he came out loved in the end. He salvaged his ass by deciding at the last minute to show up on stage at curtain call looking all dishevelled like he had been beat up (black eye make-up). He sobbed on stage while holding a habs sign, and one thumb up. He wishes to take me there again for a weekend so we can relax.
The Drake hotel: Mysterion had four shows booked at the drake over two weeks. I came along, and was the sometimes assistant. First two shows were for Horace X, and the first night didn’t happen because not enough people were there. Second show went over well. Third show was with the Red Storm Burlesque and it went badly!!! The crowd was a bunch of drunken Stagettes who couldn’t even follow direction so they were fucking up Mysterion’s tricks. I wasn’t even supposed to be on stage that night but he had to call me up because he was getting no help from anyone. He managed very well all things considered. The fourth show I was looking forward to but I got sun-stroked and exhausted. It was at a Tyler Clark Burke art show and it went great!! It sounded like too much fun, and I’m sad I missed it.
Harlettesat Revival and Sugarkill at the Bovine: Never seen the Harlettes before, they were very good. It was really more of a dinner theatre burlesque influenced dance show then a burlesque show. Very safe and Nice. There was this cheesy as fuck Magician. Pure Vegas with the blown out hair, and the ridiculous music and that weird 80’s suit with the giant shoulder pads. Kinda like this guy, but with a weird black low cut tank top instead of the white shirt. Technically good but cheesy. My favourite Harlette was ViVi who is a wonderful pantomime. Afterwards we went to the bovine to see Lindi’s new band sugarkill. As always Lindi is great!
Magic: Mysterion has been teaching me card tricks and mind reading techniques. I'm really good at them. I picked up the card moves way quicker then he did in the begining. And when we were practicing a new mind reading technique, he tried it four times on me and couldn't get it, but I got him on the first try. The look on his face when I got it right was priceless. He actually called me a "fucking bitch" before he could stop himself, because he couldn't believe I got it. It's super funness! Plus there are only one or two female magicians in this city, so I kinda want to get good at something no one else does.
Also what is really funny, is watching someone badly lie to Mysterion, when they know he’s a mind reader, an excellent face and muscle reader, and knows that he has had quite a few clear clairvoyant episodes recently. I mean come on!! Who thinks that’s a good idea?!!??!?!
