ghosts

"Hey Chris? Wanna walk down to the lake?"
So we went down to the lake to eat our spring rolls and kimchi hoisin quesadillas. On the way down we talked about our trip to Montréal in a week, Toronto Island, hedge mazes, and where on the waterfront the Music Park was. We ate our food sitting in front of some boats and then wandered a little west. Then, purely by chance, we found the music park. We started at the fifth movement and moved down to the first movement. It was beautiful and exciting and spiral, and we were delighted by the landscaping. Except.... a part of the first movement. "Hey Meryle I think I saw a ghost." Chris decided it was a shadow, and we started walking down the path near the park bench where Chris had thought he'd seen the Ghost. He starts rambling on about Ghost Busters 2, and repeating Bill Murray lines. We get to the last pathway that we hadn't walked down yet. Chris didn't want to walk down it, and wanted to head home, but I insisted. It was a bit darker, and Chris kept going on about ghost busters. I saw the tall grass along the path and went to brush my hand against it (since it reminded me of some rainbow grass I owned as a child). As I brushed my hand against it, I noticed how dark and thick the grass was, and thought "oh what if something is in there?" Something, meaning something bad/scary/dangerous. As I pulled my hand away, Chris said "What would you do if we found a body?" We muttered about the creepiness of this path, and looked at the random drain in the middle of the center path, noticing that this part of the park really had no connection to the design of the rest of the park. As we left that path of the park as quickly as possible I told Chris that I had thought there was something in the tall grass right before he mentioned the body. We realised that he had seen a ghost, and it had purposely drawn us down that path, and that this part of the waterfront, was the part where Holly Jones murderer had dumped her body in the lake. He tried to convince me to go back and check to see if there was a body in the tall grass. We never figured out what it was, but he knew, and I felt it, that there was a negative, male presence in that part of the park. It's partly why Chris asked to not walk down that path. But it was creepy people. I'm almost afraid that over the next week there will be news about a body being found in that part of the park. I'm afraid that I'm going to find out that Henry (very old apartment neighbour) died tonight. I talked to him as I came home tonight, and the minute I walked away from him I thought "holy shit what if he dies tomorrow?" His parting words to me were "well you gotta have fun, life is short!"

But I don't really want to talk about this now because it freaks me out. So instead here is a picture.
